When you browse through a store online or while at a supermarket you go past 100s of products. And it's most likely that you don't even notice half of them. But there are a few that you notice, and you just feel like grabbing it to know more. How? The packaging, the design over the cover, the shape of the pack, it's just irresistible.

What makes a packaging stand out? You'd think sticking a bunch of graphics and giving bright colors would do the trick. Do that and you'll disappear in plain sight (unless you have a product that's extra sort out for). I recently had contacted the Creative Director of Herb & Olive to understand how they build beautiful covers for their products. It's amazing the amount of work that goes behind such unique designs. So what is product packaging?

Product packaging design refers to the creation of the exterior of a product. That includes choices in material and form as well as graphics, colors and fonts that are used on wrapping, a box, a can, a bottle or any kind of container.
